The Most Perfect Piece Of Music Playout Software

Image
Q: Have you ever found the most perfect piece of music playout software? I've tried LOTS of music playback software over my 20 or so years on the Internet. Winamp, Foobar, Real Player, Windows Media Player, Musicmatch Jukebox, SAM Broadcaster, SAM Party DJ Some pieces of software were OK for playing music and some of them would crash if I added a large folder of music into them. This is a Quote from a RadioDJ User: This release is the closest thing to Perfect! Certain Radio Automation Software couldn't Crossfade very well and I'd end up with a CAR CRASH transition betweeen songs. RadioDJ excels at crossfading, It has a better Cue Point editor than some paid for software. It was 2010 when I first used RadioDJ and I haven't looked back since. RadioDJ has been the bedrock of my music automation since I discovered it via a search in

Zararadio Why Bother?

Image
Zara Radio Free Version: Why Bother? This is another piece of radio software that I tried to use before I discovered the benefits of RadioDJ I had to switch to another program Zararadio would crash after 20hrs of use Zararadio was another piece of software I couldn't get to work properly. Even after RTFM The crossfading was awful & I would always end up with lots of dead air between songs. The sound quality was poor with some songs sounding distorted even though they sounded OK on other players. It would frequently repeat songs & artists as it didn't have any playlist rotation rules built in. It wasn't much kop when it came to leaving it unattended to automate my music. I would wake up and look at the PC to find it wouldn't be playing anything. You could never call Zara radio professional radio software It's a horrid piece of software to even try and run a radio stream with. Infact we'd go as far as saying Zararadio is nothing more tha

SAM Broadcaster Cuts Off The End Of Jingles

Image
This is yet another issue within SAM Broadcaster Pro I could never get a sensible answer for. As hard as I tried I could never get SAM to play jingles or station ID's properly it would always CHOP the end off. This was a question asked recently on the SAM Broadcaster Forums. Can anyone help with how to prevent radio spots, Station IDs, Jingles, Promos (Voice Ads) from being cut-off at the end? Right now the ones I have get CHOPPED of at the end before they COMPLETE It also does it with songs SAM Broadcaster Pro could NEVER crossfade properly. I am still fighting with this I have a problem with the tracks snipping on the end a fraction before the track is finished I have tried every combination I can find regarding gap killers and even tried various settings on crossfading in case that was the issue You always ended up with a CAR CRASH of a crossfade between tracks in SAM. I regularly saw people asking on the SAM forums a

You Have A Choice Of Radio Automation Software

Image
When it comes to Internet radio automation software you have a choice... Do you pay out hundreds of $$$ for radio playout software or do you download a program for free? Personally I'd rather use something for FREE leaves more money to spend on studio equipment and streaming. I know from using various Forums over the years that hobby broadcasters don't always have $$$ to spend on stuff for their station. Everytime I test paid automation solutions I come to the conclusion that they don't perform that well when up against RadioDJ. DEMO versions of some radio software offerings have usage restrictions or time limits With those restrictions you can't test the software to its FULL POTENTIAL RadioDJ doesn't have trial periods, reg keys or online activations I'd rather help save someone from the hell that is a paid for product with very little in the way of support, The case in point being SAM Broadcaster People pay

The Best Free Radio DJ Software? (RadioDJ)

Image
Recently saw someone search for The Best Free Radio DJ Software when I looked at the stats on Google Analytics. By now they'll hopefully be using the best free music automation program of them all. RadioDJ is the best radio playout software IMHO Built around the .NET framework (at least 3.5 & 4.6.1) and a MySQL database its pretty reliable and stable. Q: Is RadioDJ really free? A: Yes its 100% free for use by any DJ or radio station, anywhere in the world. Despite claims by other software developers RadioDJ is a great starting point to start your own Internet radio station. RadioDJ doesn't rely on massive amounts of CPU it can run on a system with as little as 1GB RAM and least 1000 MHz CPU. Your system should have more power and processing, You can pick up computers with decent specifications cheaply these days. A new user of the software recently said this about RadioDJ. Setting Up An Encoder (Streaming Media)

Image
A user on the RadioDJ forums was asking for help setting up his encoder. Most encoding software tends to be similar to setup and run. Whether that be a stand alone encoder or a built in one. Its not difficult setting up an encoder. Most of the encoding programs rely on several bits of information in order for you to connect to Shoutcast or Icecast. Server or IP address : Tends to be the address your streaming provider emailed you it will look something like this. e.g: 184.154.145.114 or fred.myshoutcastprovider.com (Without the http:// part) Server Port : This will be the port number you or your provider set for you when you setup or signed up for the server. e.g: 8015 Server Type : You have different options when it comes to streaming this will usually be Shoutcast, Shoutcast v2 or Icecastv2 If you need to stream to another service such as Live365 You may want to ask their support team to help you with any connection issues Encoder Password : This will be

Nifty Piece Of Software Called RadioDJ

Image
I absolutely love it when I see someone new to the RadioDJ forums praising the program. I'm starting to set this nifty piece of software called RadioDJ completely to my hand and make it work for me like no other broadcasting software RadioDJ is Lean, Fast and NEVER fails! Indeed RadioDJ free radio automation software is such a stable and reliable program I can safely say hand on heart that since I started using RadioDJ software in 2010 that it hasn't failed on me while using it. Where there has been an issue Its been hardware related Disc drives or computer hardware failing has been the main culprit of any downtime Hard drives and computer peripherals don't last forever I wish they did because buying new Hard Drives and Computers are the ONLY EXPENSES I've had with RadioDJ since 2010 I've now switched over to SSD & hopefully (fingers crossed) they should last a lot longer than traditional spindle hard drives RadioDJ has handled

RadioDJ Track Rotations (AutoDJ Selector)

Image
So you've installed RadioDJ and imported your music and you're stuck as to what track rotations are let me try and explain a little. Track Rotations in RadioDJ selects the music only from the categories you tell it to choose from, You can have multiple rotations for different moods, just don't forget to save the rotation once you've created it. Also make sure when creating a rotation item that the repeat rules boxes are checked so you don't have any repetition in songs. Important: Try not to apply repeat rules to Sweepers, Jingles or Station ID's You need them to be available for the rotation to load into the queue. I loaded my jingles by Least recently played and sometimes Random when I ran a backup stream for another radio station about 10 years ago. Example: You pick your rotation items by clicking on + button you can choose from four different options. You can duplicate an item in your rotation by using the duplicate button.

RadioDJ (Radio Automation Playout Software)

Image
RadioDJ Radio Automation Playout RadioDJ is the BEST radio automation playout software available for FREE. It was 2010 when I came across RadioDJ via a Google search and I haven't looked back since. Built around the .NET framework (at least 3.5 & 4.8) and a MySQL database its pretty reliable and stable. Don't let the fact RadioDJ needs an MySQL database put you off MariaDB is easy to Install and maintain. It was 2014 when I last built my RadioDJ database from scratch, I take daily backups so I don't lose my database of songs. RadioDJ has been the bedrock of my music automation since 2010 To me its the MOST PERFECT piece of music playout software ever as it does what I ask of it everytime I go to use it. RadioDJ doesn't require activations or key codes in order to unlock all the features. So it doesn't constantly dial home like other paid for radio playout software is known
