Its Really Easy To Stream Audio From Your Computer

Image
As the title of the post suggests it need not be a faff when you want to stream audio on the Internet. IT can seem daunting setting up an Streaming Encoder for the first time. Its not difficult to setup a streaming encoder all you need is a Rocket Broadcaster, Shoutcast or Icecast Server to stream your Audio to. The hardest part is configuring the soundcard and encoder options. Once thats done the world really is your Oyster. I currently use Sound Empire Caster to stream audio and its rare to have an issue. I've certainly not noticed any buffering. I know other users of Sound Empire Caster have only good things to say about it. Sound Empire Caster 1.1.5 Sound Empire Caster 1.1.6 Sound Empire Caster 1.2.7 Sound Empire Caster 1.2.8 How To Configure An Encoder After configuring the encoder you then need to configure the audio from whichever audio source you want to broadcast live.

Internet Radio Listeners Can Be So FICKLE

Image
When it comes to Internet radio the hardest thing a radio station owner can do is try and attract listeners to their stream. I found in the past when I was streaming that most listeners only tended to tune in for 1 maybe 2 songs. I would play 2 Classic 80s songs together and then I'd lose a few listeners If those listeners heard those two songs played together on mainstream 80s radio those people would think the DJ was amazing. There is no DJ on most mainstream radio stations most of its Voice tracked, Computerised & Networked from remote Studios. Sadly it seems despite Internetradio station owners promoting their stations people only want to hear what they want to HEAR. Internet radio is losing out big style to Streaming services such as Spotify Spotify wants to KILL Internet Radio as we know it! Yes its nice when you do get listeners sticking around bu

RadioDJ Stream Title Settings

In RadioDJ free radio automation software you have the ability to control what metadata the listener sees when a song, request or jingle plays. We regularly get people asking how they can hide the artist & title of a Jingle or track form showing in the stream. Look under Options>Options>Stream Titles: This is where the magic happens. You have various track types in RadioDJ Music = 0 Jingle = 1 Sweeper = 2 Voiceover = 3 Commercial = 4 InternetStream = 5 Other = 6 VDF = 7 Podcast = 8 Request = 9 News = 10 PlaylistEvent = 11 FileByDate = 12 NewestFromFolder = 13 Teaser = 14 You need to select the track type from stream titles and configure the information you want to display on your stream(s) These are some of the Variables you can find the full list of stream variables inside the Docs folder in RadioDJv2 by opening a .pdf file $track_id$ = Track's Database ID $artist$ = Track Artist $title$ = Track Title $album$ = Track Album $year$ = R

Sam Broadcaster Pro Not Built For Relaying A Stream?

Image
SAM Broadcaster Pro Not Built for Relaying a Stream? So even though the program is called Streaming Audio Manager It's not actually built for relaying a stream through? SAM Broadcaster buffers while relaying a stream and takes forever to move onto the next queue item when the stream drops. That's even with the silence remover/detector active. I tried relaying a stream through SAM Broadcaster way back in v2.7.9 and had issues with it buffering and breaking up. I saw this nugget on a the SAM Broadcaster forums recently SAM Broadcaster Pro is definitely not made for rebroadcasting a stream Not much of Streaming Audio Manager if it can't relay an online radio stream. Another issue people run into while trying to rebroadcast a stream via SAM Broadcaster is the title streaming SAM doesn't relay the now playing information to the encoders. This is a design problem with SAM Broadcaster The titles that show on the player are t
