8 Reasons To Not Use SAM Broadcaster Pro

Image
I can think of a few reasons WHY you might want to choose an alternative to SAM Broadcaster Pro or Studio 1) Lousy Customer Support: When SAM Broadcaster goes wrong (and it will) don't expect to get much help from Spacial Audio: Even the forums and social media accounts were staffed by people who didnt really care about the software. People have even taken to Social media to vent their frustrations at not getting much in the way of support. @Spacial Audio are the worst software company I have EVER come across I really feel cheated because I never expected @Spacial Audio to be so Deceptive I don't have to make Spacial Audio look Incompetent they manage to do that all by themselves Spacial Audio's parent company must be so Proud of the way they operate? IMHO: Triton Digital need to put Spacial Audio out of business. Update March 2023: Spacial Audio have made the Support forums a READ ONLY resource. Limiting your opti

I Rely On SAM Broadcaster Pro To Make a A Living

Image
Came across a guy venting on Spacial Audio's social media feed. I bought SAM Broadcaster Pro recently I was having issues and was told to upgrade to the newest version Now I have no working SAM Broadcaster No way to contact anyone Refused support via email Give me back my money! I rely on SAM for Income No Doubt that comment will end up hidden from other users Spacial have a nasty habit of hiding negative feedback. Then theres this recent comment on the SAM Broadcaster Forums. I am having random problems with SAM Broadcaster freezing Along with "This program has crashed press OK" messages Yet again I'm only relaying what I see on the Internet. Spacial Audio have a RAFT of unhappy fed up users in their wake. The Activation requirement in SAM Broadcaster keeps locking genuine licenced users out of the software as they're just about to go LIVE. Update: September 21st 2023: Spacial Audio appear to have done some work on the SAM su

SAM Broadcaster Product Activation Offline

Image
Saw this in amongst the search terms on Google analytics recently… SAM Broadcaster Product Activation Offline The Spacial Audio activation server fell over recently which in turn left users struggling to get SAM Broadcaster activated. Users having issues getting SAM Broadcaster activated are nothing new. The activation system says that SAM Broadcaster is activated on 3 PC’s When the user has deactivated the software before they went to reinstall The activation servers have been causing users grief ever since Spacial Audio changed how people have to unlock the software. Before users just needed a key code to unlock all the features in SAM Broadcaster Spacial Audio introduced Software Activations in September 2009 to cut down on the amount of pirated versions. Activation errors have meant some radio DJ's missing their regular online shows. Things like that should NEVER happen with radio playout software. It’s j

The Perils Of Activation Servers (SAM Broadcaster Pro)

Image
Since December 2007 Spacial Audio have required users to activate SAM Broadcaster Pro and all their other software. However the Activation Servers can sometimes have issues with how many active activations a user has. When I try to reinstall SAM I am getting an error message stating I am over the allowed number of activations. I only had it installed on one machine Hundreds of SAM Broadcaster users have had the same issue since the activation requirement was hard coded into the software You are entitled to 1 license for this program 1 licence = 1 registration key which activates the program You are permitted to activate the program on different 3 systems You can only run 1 copy of SAM Broadcaster Pro per licence and you CANNOT run multiple copies. Its another reason that SAM Broadcaster Pro sucks the way Spacial Audio LIMIT usage of their software. The SAM activation server has a nasty habit of locking users out of the software, sometimes as t

Very Upset with Spacial Audio Technical Support

Image
The Spacial Audio support department strike again! I have been a Sam Broadcaster customer for over 15 years I have reinstalled a PC and when I wanted to activate my license it did not allow me I've been writing to Spacial technical support for two day and they won't give me a solution I have my radio station losing thousands of listeners. I don't know what to do anymore It appears the activation system is yet again causing users issues even if they've deactivated before reinstalling Things like this should NEVER happen with radio automation software. A radio DJ needs software to work so they can do their job or hobby It all stems from the fact SAM Broadcaster was pirated a LOT back in the days on 4.x.x versions. Spacial Audio introduced the activation requirement to cut down on the amount of pirated copies of SAM Broadcaster Pro there were out there. A former Spacial Audio employee posted this: I helped b

Where Have All the Software Pirates Gone?

Image
Over the past few years I've seen posts on X offering cracked copies of SAM Broadcaster Pro I'm pretty sure the same thing has been going on on other social media websites. Recently the posts offering these cracks has calmed down. Not seen anyone offering pirated copies of SAM since late 2020. Not even seen anyone offering SAM Broadcaster v4.2.2 which was the most pirated version of SAM Broadcaster On the whole that has to be GOOD NEWS. I'm sure Spacial Audio will be thrilled. These software Pirates have obviously realised you DON'T NEED a Pirated version of SAM Broadcaster you just need RadioDJ Reasons to Use RadioDJ: Once installed it's stable and works for days/weeks without needing to keep an eye on it Great Music library support add as many categories & subcategories you require RadioDJ doesn't require online activations or registration keys Radio

SAM Broadcaster Pro How Good Is It?

Image
This was a question I saw askd by someone on a Forum. Q: SAM Broadcaster Pro: How good is it? A: IMHO It's not a very good piece of software & it's not worth the $299 & $699 pricetags SAM Broadcaster can be extremely tricky for a novice to setup it gets confusing having 5 different database options on first run. Firebird is the worst of the database options and is flaky and unstable. Firebird can only hold around 50,000 tracks in its database so no good if you have a large library (100K+) of songs I installed SAM Broadcaster with the help of a software engineer We used the included Firebird server That worked well for a few days then SAM wouldn't restart I'd have to start over again reinstalling from scratch SAM fails to the point where it crashes at least once a day Its taking ALL the fun out of this We often hear users reporting crashing/activation issues with SAM Broadcaster often taking stations off air for a few

Does Anyone Still Buy SAM Broadcaster Pro?

Image
I'm not noticing anywhere near the amount of gripes about SAM Broadcaster on social media that I used to see 5/6 years ago. The forums don't seem to be attracting as many complaints that they once did either. Although they've made the forums READ ONLY. Download figures for RadioDJ would suggest that not many people are paying Spacial Audio for software now. It was 2010 when I switched from SAM Broadcaster to RadioDJ I switched because I was sick of SAMBC not performing as it should & it crashed regularly and required reinstalling after every crash. I have NEVER had a major issue with RadioDJ Or any standalone encoders I've streamed with since 2010 RadioDJ handles everything I throw at it and is as Stable & Reliable and doesn't crash like SAM Broadcaster Pro If anything has taken RadioDJ off air it was computer hardware related. Disc Drives FAILING

You're Using A Pirated Version Of SAM Broadcaster Pro?

Image
A SAM Broacaster user is having issues with his SAM Broadcaster Pro activation. The user Tweeted that he was having issues with his SAM Broadcaster Pro Key @spacial explain to me why I emailed eight different people with an issue I have with SAM PRO They all keep telling me my product code key is invalid? I paid $300 for this P.O.S Spacial Audio have come back with this response. Did you purchase your product directly from our website? If not, then there is a possibility that this could be a crack license I can't wait to see what reply the user comes back with @spacial You don't accuse customers of running pirated copies of your software when they aren't. Its why I hate paid for software that has keys or activations the support for those products is DIRE! The Spacial Audio helpdesk aren't the only ones to accuse users you used to get accused by the SVS Volunteers on the Spacial Audio forums. The Spacial SAM Broadcaster Forums have been

Sam Broadcaster Pro EULA Licence

Image
Did you ever wonder what restrictions that Spacial Audio place on users when it comes to using SAM Broadcaster Pro? Spacial Audio updated their EULA (End User Licence Agreement) on the 10th of April 2017 It would appear Spacial Audio want to Dictate what you can and cant do with their software in the SAM Broadcaster Pro EULA Licence The Software may not be used in a manner that infringes, violates or misappropriates the rights of any third party; in a manner that violates any applicable local, state or national laws; in a manner that violates the privacy of any person or entity, or in a manner that is otherwise illegal or promotes illegal activities, including, without limitation anything that may be considered obscene, libellous, defamatory, or otherwise malicious or harmful to any person or entity So if you're thinking of using the software to stream an unlicensed station (Pirate Radio) then you may not use SAM Broadcaster Pro You can only run 1 station per licenc

I've Had To Shut My Radio Station Down (Sam Broadcaster Pro)

Image
I looked at the Spacial Audio's social media feeds recently and couldn't help but notice an angry user venting about issues with SAM Broadcaster I have SAM Broadcaster Pro on two laptops neither will work because of constant crashing issues I cannot DJ because your software keeps letting me down I have had to shut my radio station down I can sympathise with the user venting his frustrations. I used SAM Broadcaster for over 10 years and had nothing but headaches with constant crashing/buffering & freezing issues. When SAM Broadcaster Pro crashed it would take the database with it. As there is no way to backup or restore the database in SAM Broadcaster you have to prat around reinstalling everything. This user shouldn't have to stop running their radio station They just need to use more reliable radio automation software They wouldn't have any of these crashing/stability issues if they switched to RadioDJ to

Sam Broadcaster Pro Crashes

Image
I recently thought I'd install & see if anything changed with the latest version of SAM Broadcaster Pro SADLY IT HADN'T I started SAM Broadcaster after I configured it connected it to Shoutcast pressed play and off it went or so I thought. I got called away to help a neighbour with something & I was only gone from the computer for 10/15 minutes IF that. When I came back my stream was silent NOTHING was playing just dear air. I looked on the computer & an error message said SAM Broadcaster had STOPPED WORKING you know, that really annoying error! I had it on a clean and fresh install of Windows 11 only Sam Broadcaster was installed After testing SAM Broadcaster Pro it froze displaying the usual critical error (Unexpected Exception Occurred) After 20 years those SAM Broadcaster problems should be a thing of the past Nothing has changed with SAM Broadcaster It's still prone to crashing without warning Why do people s
