Q: SAM Broadcaster Pro: How good is it?
SAM Broadcaster can be extremely tricky for a novice to setup it gets confusing having 5 different database options on first run.
Firebird is the worst of the database options and is flaky and unstable.
Firebird can only hold around 50,000 tracks in its database so no good if you have a large library (100K+) of songs
I installed SAM Broadcaster with the help of a software engineer
We used the included Firebird serverThat worked well for a few days then SAM wouldn't restart
I'd have to start over again reinstalling from scratch
SAM fails to the point where it crashes at least once a day
Its taking ALL the fun out of this
We often hear users reporting crashing/activation issues with SAM Broadcaster often taking stations off air for a few days.
I know from bitter experience how awful it is when SAM Broadcaster plays up.
Once it stopped playing music files and only played station ID's on a loop & that was down to a CLOCKWHEEL FAILURE
Worth noting the clockwheel had over 5000 tracks to chose from so its not like I didn't have enough music to supply the rotation.
I lost ALL the listeners I'd managed to attract to my stream, I wasn't happy.

When it comes to support Spacial Audio Solutions bury their heads in the sandOften giving rude, abrupt, blunt, curt replies to people having issues with their software
Or they just ignore peoples support tickets altogether

Hey @spacial I logged a ticket 3 days ago, now I cannot get any support or an update on my issue
Spacial Audio can't handle criticism from paying customers.
They have a nasty habit of hiding negative feedback from their Social Media feeds.
If you dare to be abrupt when submitting a ticket Spacial Audio will claim you're using Hate Speech and shut down your account.
If you dared to criticize the program on the Spacial Forums you got called names.
Festerhead called people Noobs and Turds and on the whole was the rudest person I've ever met on a forum.
Spacial Audio try to claim that posts on this Blog are marketing gimmicks.
There are NO marketing gimmicks needed with RadioDJ the amount of downloads the software receives speaks for itself.
The fact there's a 100% free alternative radio playout solution has obviously got Spacial Audio on the back foot!
I used SAM Broadcaster for a long time (10+ years) so I know all its little quirks and annoyances I've been frustrated time after time with the lack of stability & support for the program
Forget paying $$$ to Spacial Audio for their broken software.
They really don't seem interested in fixing bugs that in some cases are over 20 years old.
