Spacial Audio Disreputable?

Image
Spacial Audio Solutions LLC is ran and managed by people who just DON'T CARE about $$$ paying customers. I saw this tweet on Twitter a couple of years back now about Spacial Audio & it didn't surprise me to be honest. We've been trying to tell people this for years now. Once you buy software from Spacial Audio you won't get help when something goes wrong and Spacial software does go wrong. @spacial very very disappointed after 20 years of being customer Your customer service is so poor! The support team appear to send the same old canned replies that aren't usually of any help to the person having the issues. That's IF you're lucky enough to have your support ticket answered. @spacial please answer our emails, or dm's or just let us contact you somehow. please. we just want to talk Don't even bother with the support forums either they're just as bad. IF YOU cancel any Spacial Audio service keep an eye

You Cannot Run Multiple Instances (SAM Broadcaster Pro)

Image
One of the biggest bug bears of mine is the you cannot run multiple instances of certain radio playout software. Even if You attempted to run 2 copies of SAM Broadcaster on the same machine you'd have issues with the PC. I once attempted to run 2 copies of SAM 2.7.9 on an old XP computer 20 years ago and the machine kept freezing and crashing. One of the problems SAM suffers with is MEMORY LEAKS an issue which hasn't been addressed in over 20 years. If you run LOTS of PAL SCRIPTS your computer will be sluggish and sometimes unresponsive because of the leaks. Theres a topic on the SAM Broadcaster Forums telling you how to run multiple instances It the does state in the SAM Broadcaster EULA from 2017 that you cannot run more than 1 instance on the same PC. SAM Broadcaster is YESTERDAY'S Technology and isn't worth the $$$ Spacial Audio ask for it. Save your self the headaches of software cr

SAM Broadcaster Won’t Open After Reboot

Image
I recently saw a post on the Spacial Audio SAM Broadcaster Forums SAM Broadcaster Pro won't open after reboot! When I restart my computer SAM Broadcaster won’t open SAM Broadcaster going wrong is nothing new its been an issue for over 20 years. In the past I've had to uninstall and reinstall SAM Broadcaster after the program went wrong. What causes SAM Broadcaster and it’s program files/database structure to become corrupted during a reboot of the computer is anyone’s guess. This has happened on different operating systems from XP to Windows 10 Another SAM user said it turned out to be an issue with the core or GUI XML being corrupted by an improper shutdown of the software. The SAM Broadcaster database tables became corrupted after a reboot of the computer which required a reinstall of the software. I was having to reinstall SAM Broadcaster at least once a Week The problem was even worse if your PC was s

SAM Broadcaster Freezes While Adding Music?

Image
I first used SAM Broadcaster way back when v1.3 came out in 1999. One thing that bugged me about Streaming Audio Manager is that it always FROZE while adding music into the software. Adding files is a very time consuming process and SAM freezes for a while It won't transition to the next song until the folder scan is done Back in v1.3 If I tried adding a large folder of music to the software it would cause the program to crash. It was exactly the same with versions SAM Broadcaster 2/3/4 The reason SAM freezes is down to the fact that the software suffers from bad MEMORY LEAKS! Plus the software is well known for using lots of the computers resources & CPU. SADLY 20+ years later the same thing is still happening in Spacial Audio's SAM Broadcaster software. Saw this on Social media recently. I'm making headway adding music & jingles to SAM but it keeps freezing The Fact

Sam Broadcaster Pro Not Built For Relaying A Stream?

Image
SAM Broadcaster Pro Not Built for Relaying a Stream? So even though the program is called Streaming Audio Manager It's not actually built for relaying a stream through? SAM Broadcaster buffers while relaying a stream and takes forever to move onto the next queue item when the stream drops. That's even with the silence remover/detector active. I tried relaying a stream through SAM Broadcaster way back in v2.7.9 and had issues with it buffering and breaking up. I saw this nugget on a the SAM Broadcaster forums recently SAM Broadcaster Pro is definitely not made for rebroadcasting a stream Not much of Streaming Audio Manager if it can't relay an online radio stream. Another issue people run into while trying to rebroadcast a stream via SAM Broadcaster is the title streaming SAM doesn't relay the now playing information to the encoders. This is a design problem with SAM Broadcaster The titles that show on the player are t

Encoder Won't Show Up (Sam Broadcaster Live DJ)

Image
This was a search I saw recently on my old website... Encoder won't show up in SAM Broadcaster live DJ window The Live DJ version of SAM Broadcaster can only stream to 1 service SAM Broadcaster Cloud Its a stripped down version of SAMBC supplied to station owners who have SAM Broadcaster Cloud accounts which come with 5 DJ seats. Licensed versions of Live-DJ can only be used to stream to stations under your (the station manager’s) control I always thought the DJ seats were just a money making scam in the first place so they could extract more money from station owners. You can't use DSP plugins with SAM Live DJ so you can't encode using a DSP encoder. You won't get very far with SAM Live DJ if you've downloaded it illegally I believe that Live DJ automatically shuts down after a couple of hours use. Its NOT like the Pro version of the software that has the encoding capabilities included for the $299 price tag. Forget SAM Live DJ and use RadioD
