I can think of a few reasons WHY you might want to choose an alternative to SAM Broadcaster Pro or Studio 1) Lousy Customer Support: When SAM Broadcaster goes wrong (and it will) don't expect to get much help from Spacial Audio: Even the forums and social media accounts were staffed by people who didnt really care about the software. For the past 13 years I've been trying to get across to people just how Flaky Spacial Audio software is. Fact: SAM Broadcaster Pro Crashes A Lot! My Blog posts have saved users from the Hell that is SAM Broadcaster I used SAM Broadcaster from 2001 to 2010 and believe me I know all of its little QUIRKS and ISSUES Rather than take the Criticism of SAM Broadcaster on board Spacial Audio appear to have completely retreated into a corner. I've never known another Software company who are so outwardly PARANOID They've built a wall around them and won't help people or enter into conversations about how AWFUL their software offerings are. AFAIK Spacial have only 1 developer when they do a release its for stuff thats stopped working in previous versions. Spacial Audio Solutions like to play BIG corporate company when it comes to their software support when in reality they are a small time software company based in Sherman Oaks, California. The support team is staffed by people who have NEVER used the software and who usually send the wrong replies. I love SAM Broadcaster but @spacial Customer Support makes me feel more like a Victim, than a customer. I saw this tweet on Twitter a couple of years back now about Spacial Audio & it didn't surprise me to be honest. We've been trying to tell people this for years now. I've just tried looking at the Changelog For SAM Broadcaster Spacial Audio have blocked referrers from this website I keep getting an access denied message Are Spacial Audio really THAT PARANOID? Is Spacial Audio being ran by Children or Adults? Bit Childish blocking referals from this website! There were 3 releases of SAM Broadcaster in 2019 the last 2019 version was released back in August 2019. A couple of those releases seem to have been fixes for stuff that was broken such as Album art look up Spacial Audio don't appear to have added that many new features into the software in 2019. Just seen another post on the Spacial social media feeds from a user who was having activation problems. The Spacial Audio Support department has now told this user that they cannot find a record of their licence for SAM Broadcaster Pro Now I am told via the Help Desk, Spacial Audio has no record of my licence. Maybe Spacial Audio need a better computer database system to keep customer records better? This is NOT the first time we've heard of someone being told that Spacial had no record of them purchasing software. I can't help but notice that Spacial Audio posts on social media of late smack of desperation for sales. Instead of paying month-by-month Get a whole month free from Spacial's yearly purchase plan They want you the user to cough up a years worth of subscription money in one go. Who on earth can afford to pay up to $825 p/a just so they can use SAM Broadcaster Cloud? Most Hobby Broadcasters I speak to don't have that sort of cash to spend year on year. I could understand paying out all that money if the software solutions and customer service were up to par but alas neither are. Yes its another post about how Lackluster Spacial Audio Support are. I've been watching a thread on Twitter where a user was simply told to go find another service by the Support desk at Spacial. His Crime? Asking Spacial Audio Support for help. We were *trying* to work with @spacial but when we asked them for help @spacial "fired" us! Seriously? Don't buy from @spacial So let me get this right, Spacial Audio are revoking peoples licences for no reason? I've blogged before about Spacial revoking licences when customers complained about the software and its still going on. The usual bullshit email from Spacial Audio dropped into my email yesterday. They start off the email by saying news letters will be a quarterly thing rather than a monthly thing. Then they go onto say they've made the support forums a read only resource. (I reckon) They've done this to Scupper my blogging so I cant see customers blowing their stack at Spacial support. This isn't Spacial Audio Streamlining Its Spacial Audio finding even more ways not to SUPPORT users Spacial seem to have ditched most social media but I still see pissed off SAM Broadcaster users posting somehwere every now and then. Spacial Audio updated their EULA (End User Licence Agreement) on the 10th of April 2017 It would appear Spacial Audio want to Dictate what you can and cant do with their software in the SAM Broadcaster Pro EULA Licence The Software may not be used in a manner that infringes, violates or misappropriates the rights of any third party; in a manner that violates any applicable local, state or national laws; in a manner that violates the privacy of any person or entity, or in a manner that is otherwise illegal or promotes illegal activities, including, without limitation anything that may be considered obscene, libellous, defamatory, or otherwise malicious or harmful to any person or entity So if you're thinking of using the software to stream an unlicensed station (Pirate Radio) then you may not use SAM Broadcaster Pro You can only run 1 station per licenc
